Which Editions of the All-New Mazda CX-5 are available?
Four: Active, Dynamic, Individual and Homura. All four use the same 2.5-litre petrol engine with an automatic transmission, and all four share the same extensive base specification.
Is the All-New Mazda CX-5 front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive?
Both, depending on the Edition. The Active and Dynamic are front-wheel drive. The Individual and Homura are all-wheel drive, and both add an off-road drive mode and hill descent control.
What is standard on every All-New Mazda CX-5, including the Active?

How big is the touchscreen in the All-New Mazda CX-5?
The Homura Edition has a 15.5-inch centre display. The Active, Dynamic and Individual have a 12.9-inch display. All four are touch operated, which is new for the CX-5, and all four pair it with a 10-inch digital meter display in front of the driver.
Does the All-New Mazda CX-5 have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes, and both are wireless on every Edition including the Active. Google is built in as standard as well, so navigation and voice control work natively rather than only by mirroring a phone. Wireless Qi charging is also standard across the range.
Does the All-New Mazda CX-5 have a digital instrument cluster and a head-up display?
Every Edition has a 10-inch digital meter display, which is a first for Mazda in South Africa. A Head-up Display projecting onto the windscreen is fitted from the Dynamic Edition upward, so speed and other information sit in your line of sight.
What sound system does the All-New Mazda CX-5 have?
A 12-speaker Bose system is fitted to the Individual and Homura Editions. The Active and Dynamic carry an 8-speaker set. If the audio matters to you, it is worth hearing both at Mazda Nelspruit rather than comparing speaker counts on paper.
What is the 360 View Monitor and what does underfloor view add?
It stitches the camera feeds into a single overhead view of the car and its surroundings, which makes tight bays and kerbs far easier to judge. A panoramic sunroof is fitted to the Individual and Homura Editions. Heated front seats, a rear seat warmer and steering wheel warming are on the Homura. The Individual and Homura both have ventilated front seats, and interior ambient lighting and LED foot lamps start at the Individual.

Cloth and 17-inch grey metallic alloys on the Active. Black and White leatherette with 19-inch black machined alloys on the Dynamic. Black leather with 19-inch black metallic alloys on the Individual. Sport Tan leather with the same wheels on the Homura.

A 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine producing 132kW at 6 000 rpm and 240Nm at 4 000 rpm, paired with an automatic transmission across the range. The outgoing CX-5 used a 2.0-litre producing 121kW and 213Nm.
What driver assistance systems does the All-New Mazda CX-5 have?
Every Edition carries radar cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure prevention, blind spot monitoring, smart city brake support, rear cross traffic alert and brake, traffic jam assist, oncoming vehicle prevention and driver attention alert. The Individual and Homura add a 360 View Monitor, Smart Brake Support, front side radar, adaptive LED headlamps, intersection brake support, and driver and occupant monitoring.
