Mazda SA wins “Company of the Year” at the 2016 Tracker and CAR’s Annual Top 12 Best Buys Awards
Mazda officially started operating as an independent national sales and service company from the 1st of October 2014. At the 2016 Tracker and CAR’s Annual Top 12 Best Buys Awards event, held in Johannesburg on the 16th February 2016; Mazda was crowned “Company of the Year”.
“Mazda has made very impressive strides in forging its own strategic direction. Under new managing director, the canny David Hughes, those strides have gained further momentum, but such a surge can only gain lasting traction through quality products. And here Mazda has delivered, introducing several well-received new models such as the 6, 3, and 2, the grin-inducing MX-5 and the CX-3 crossover to join its bigger CX-5 sibling. With this raft of well-engineered and competitively priced new models has come well-deserved commercial success, seeing Mazda buck the flat market to almost double its sales from 2014 to 2015 and increase its local market share from 0,6% to 1,9%.” – Car Magazine commented.
Now in its 17th year, Tracker and CAR’s annual awards give rise to CAR’s panel of respected motoring journalists to recognise manufacturers, vehicles in 12 distinct categories, special awards and the venerated manufacture of the year award.
“It is an honour to be a recipient of this award that recognises great team work among our staff, our dealer network, our suppliers and our parent company. We are inspired to continue working towards rebuilding the brand and maintaining strong relationships with our customers.”– remarks Mr David Hughes, MD of Mazda Southern Africa
